Contestants Judging Form

As they check-in, each contestant will be given a form with all the contestants' names listed alphbetically by first name.  Their own name on the sheet will be crossed out because no one will score themselves.

The contestants will judge one another as each takes the stage to sing.

For each of the three categories, each contestant/judge will simply circle the score which most accurately reflects their opinioin of each of their competitors.

In the hypothetical example below, Pat correctly scored each of her competitors as they sang, by circling their score in each category and then totalling the Row.

Vocal talent is only 1/2 the total score.  Stage presence and Song Choice are very important to the overall score.

After everyone sings, all the score sheets will be collected from the contestants and tabulated.

In the example above, Amy got a total of 28 points from Pat but in the spreadsheet below, her total from all the score sheets is 477.
All the scores from everyone's score sheets will be entered into the spreadsheet below and each contestant's totals will be calculated.

As you can also see in this example, James is a point behind Steve in vocal talent, but beat Steve in overall points by two and qualified for the finals
because his scores for Song Choice and Stage Presence were both better.  Steve may have had the better voice, but James made the finals because
of his choice and performance.  This is an important point for the contestants to remember.

Here's a hypothetical version of the tabulation sheet:

All the scores from all the sheets are loaded into this tabulation grid and the math is done automatically.  As you can see in the above example, ARIE has the highest Vocal Talent score, but didn't finish in the top three while Josh came in first place because his song choice and stage presence were stronger.  While these results are not typical, the example shows that it CAN happen.

This is why we stress that picking the right song and having great stage presence are SO important!  Each contestant should consider these factors when choosing their song.

Again, the results above are completely ficticious and in no way reflect any possible outcome for the actual competition.
